Walden watched, fascinated and slightly horrified. "Alan, why didn't you just tell her the truth?"

The episode reached its peak when Alan’s attempt to be a "cool guy" resulted in him getting stuck—physically and metaphorically—in a situation he couldn't charm his way out of. Walden started laughing, a genuine, house-shaking sound.

Alan beamed, taking it as a compliment. "Exactly! Now, do you want to watch the next one, or should we go see if there's any of your expensive bourbon left?" "Lies are rent-free

As the episode started, the familiar theme song filled the room—though the "men" in the intro had changed, the spirit of the chaos remained. On screen, Alan was embroiled in his usual web of lies, trying to sneak around between Lyndsey and her ex-husband, Chris.
