Following Buffy's death at the end of Season 5, the "Scooby Gang" struggles to protect Sunnydale using a robotic "Buffybot." Realizing they cannot sustain the facade, Willow leads a dangerous magical ritual to resurrect the true Slayer, believing she is trapped in a hell dimension. However, Buffy returns traumatized, having actually been in a peaceful heavenly dimension, while a gang of demon bikers (the Hellions) begins terrorizing the town.
