: Mildred is blindsided when Mrs. Forrester alleges that Veda has been having an affair with her son, Sammy, and is pregnant.

: Veda admits the pregnancy was a lie designed to extort money from the Forresters. Disgusted by her daughter's lack of remorse, Mildred finally snaps and throws Veda out of the house.
