Mumble , the once-outcast tap-dancing hero, is now a father struggling to connect with his son, , in the frozen world of Antarctica. Unlike his father, Erik is "choreo-phobic" and reluctant to dance, leading him to run away from home toward Adélie-Land.
: Led by Ramon and the "messianic" Sven, they help gather fish to drop down to the trapped emperors.
There, Erik encounters , a mysterious tufted puffin who has convinced the local penguins that he is a penguin with the miraculous ability to fly. Enamored by Sven's charisma and his philosophy of "Sven Think"—the idea that you can do anything if you believe it enough— Erik begins to drift further from Mumble.
In the end, it isn't "Sven Think" or flight that saves the day, but a massive, coordinated rhythmic dance that creates enough vibration to shatter the ice walls. Erik finally recognizes his father’s "guts and grit," finding his own place in the community through song and bravery rather than just dance.
