He looked back at the screen. The shadow was gone. In its place, the video feed had changed. It showed his apartment, but it was thirty years younger. A woman he hadn't seen since he was five years old walked across the frame, humming a tune he suddenly remembered in his teeth.

Elias hovered his cursor over it. He had spent months scouring the deepest, unindexed corners of the web for "The Archive of Lost Echoes."
